Daily Scripture Readings
This site is offered by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
It provides the daily scripture readings.
International Bible Society
The purpose of International Bible Society is to faithfully translate,
publish and reach out with God's Word so that people around the world may
become disciples of Jesus Christ and members of His Body. This site
offers Bibles in many languages and versions and allows the user to view
a particular passage, compare different versions, and perform a word search.
This site contains notes to help lectors prepare for Sunday proclamations. It covers Sundays and Holy Days throughout the lectionary cycle.
Roman Catholic
Lectionary Web site
Many websites provide easy access to the scripture readings assigned
to particular Sundays and/or Weekdays in various church Lectionaries. This
web site has comprehensive tables of the scripture readings from several
Latin and English editions of the Roman Catholic Lectionary for Mass, so
that you can easily obtain an overview of all the readings used in a particular
liturgical season (Advent, Christmas, etc.) and/or in a particular year
of Ordinary Time (Sundays in Years A, B, C; Weekdays in Years I &
II). There are also many cross-references and some comparative analyses
so that you can more easily see the differences between various editions
of the Lectionary.
Scripture Catholic
This site provides over 2,000 Scripture citations from the Old and
New Testament that explain and defend the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Each citation is followed by a one-line exegesis of a point of Catholic
teaching and assumes the reader has some understanding of the Protestant
position. The site is intended to function as a quick Scriptural reference
guide, and must of course be accompanied by further study of the Scriptures,
the early Church Fathers and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Hopefully,
this easy format serves as a useful tool for the Catholic apologist and
others who are interested in the Scriptural basis for the teachings of
the Catholic faith.
United States Conference of
Catholic Bishops
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is an assembly
of the hierarchy of the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands who jointly
exercise certain pastoral functions on behalf of the Christian faithful
of the United States. The purpose of the Conference is to promote the greater
good which the Church offers humankind, especially through forms and programs
of the apostolate fittingly adapted to the circumstances of time and place.
This purpose is drawn from the universal law of the Church and applies
to the episcopal conferences which are established all over the world for
the same purpose.
