The Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary of Immaculate Conception and Assumption parishes invites you to prayerfully consider joining us to help increase the spiritual benefits to our parish communities brought by Our Blessed Mother through the prayers and works of its members.

"Come and See" what being a member of the Legion is all about.  We meet on Thursdays at 7:30 PM in the Meeting House next to the rectory.  We begin with a Rosary to Our Blessed Mother.

Our members weekly volunteer to either pray the Rosary in a group with approximately fifteen residents of Sunrise Assisted Living, or visit patients from our parishes at Lawrence Hospital, or do home visitation.  We offer rosaries, prayer cards and sacramentals.  We go “two by two” hand in hand with Our Blessed Mother as our help and guide.

The Legion of Mary is worldwide and has been approved by our Popes.  The following are quotes from two of them:

We give a very special blessing to this beautiful and holy work - the Legion of Mary.  Its name speaks for itself ... I pray for you that you may exercise still more earnestly that apostolate of prayer and work to which you have set your hands.  So doing, God will make you, too, co-operators in the Redemption.  This is the best of all ways in which to show your gratitude to the Redeemer.
